Sakku Investments Corporation is an esteemed Inuit Birthright Corporation representing the interests of all Inuit in the Kivalliq region. Established in 1989 as the development arm of the Kivalliq Inuit Association (KIA), our primary objective is to generate revenue to strengthen KIA’s capacity for enhancing the quality of life and fulfilling the promises of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement.
At Sakku, we focus on building the local business sector and seizing private sector opportunities. By doing so, we contribute to the development of social infrastructure, reinvest revenues in Inuit communities, and create more pathways for Inuit individuals to participate in the wage economy.

Our Logo
Our logo features the Sakku, a toggle harpoon head commonly used by Inuit for hunting seals, whales, and walruses. It symbolizes the enduring strength and ingenuity of Inuit culture, as it has been used for thousands of years to ensure the survival and sustenance of our communities.
The Sakku attaches to the end of a harpoon shaft and cord, and its design allows it to rotate 90 degrees upon penetration, preventing escape. This symbol represents our unwavering commitment to the resilience, tradition, and progress of Inuit people.
